Cleanliness is next to Godliness

Oh Singapore, I love that you clean the sidewalk with what we use to do hospital floors.

And the overwhelming concern for bathroom tidiness is commendable. That is a fly sticker to aim at in the urinal, kind of like Cheerios for target practice as a kid.

Sampling Mooncakes

It's almost mooncake month (follows ghost month), which means every hotel, restaurant, and coffee shop is selling these things. As far as I can tell, it almost seems like a fancy version of Christmas dainties.

Most places are also giving samples, so I'm trying them all. 90% of them all taste the same to me and they really don't have much flavor. The most common ingredient is white lotus paste, whatever that is. I did find one variation that tastes really good. I'm going to try to bring it home, but it needs to be refrigerated. She said I could freeze it, so I might try that with an insulated bag and maybe ask for some fridge space on the plane. That first class ticket has got to be worth something.

At the hospital

'Checking in' to a location on Blogger definitely isn't as robust as facebook. Anyhoo, I'm at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, the hospital that I'm working with and posting this using the free-ish nationwide wifi that I finally have an account for. I posted these pics on facebook yesterday, but here they are for the blog, plus a bonus waterfall picture taken just now. This place is like a park.
